Who We Are

Our Vision

Tamil Gospel Church is a nonprofit religious corporation organized exclusively for religious purposes and served mostly by volunteers of their time and service. The main purpose of the Tamil Gospel Church shall be to reach out to the Indian Tamils and all other Tamil speaking communities with the aspiration of sharing the gospel of Christ and winning souls for our Lord, for "it is the will of our Lord and Savior that none should perish but to have eternal life."

Other purposes of TGC include the following:

To provide a place to worship and glorify the Almighty God in truth and spirit
To uphold and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ
To observe all Christian ordinances and teachings
To develop loving relationships with each other among believers
To honor, adore and praise the living God in small and large groups
To witness and fellowship in Tamil traditional manner
To support visiting evangelists and their works in India
To foster a sense of appreciation for our values and dignity
To establish a growing fellowship of believers
To create opportunity to grow spiritually, culturally, and socially
To use our God given gifts to love and serve others, here and around the world, in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
To support missionary work primarily in India and other parts of the world through recognized Organizations/Institutions
To develop special programs to train our children and youth in Christian faith and nurture discipleship

What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

Below listed are some of the key points from our Statement of Faith

God

We believe that there is only one true living God, the creator of all things who is revealed to us in the New and Old Testament as three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal but with distinct functions within the Godhead. (Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1)

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Godhead who created the heaven and earth and all other creatures.

God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of virgin Mary, lived a perfect and sinless life on the earth, shed His blood and was crucified on the cross to atone for our sins and buried, then resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father and will come back to earth in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who draws sinners to Christ, convicts us of sin and gives us new life in Christ, indwelling and empowering us to live a godly life.

Holy Bible

We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, the infallible and authoritative word of God which is supreme and sufficient for all matters of faith and life practices. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; John 10:35)

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ and that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been renewed by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Church universal. The Church is representative of the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head.

Great Commission

We believe that God desires us to reach all with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hence we believe the great commission to evangelize and to disciple the lost both here in our community and all around the world. This includes missionary work to extend Christian love to the needy around the world. We seek to be and make disciples who not only proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ but also display Him. (Matthew 18:19-20; Mark 16:15-16)

Our Purpose

Our Mission

Below are some of the works that would be carried out by TGC to meet its Vision:

Organize small group meetings such as Bible study, Prayer Groups, etc.
Organize Sunday school for children and youth
Organize monthly fasting prayers
Organize Women's Fellowship and Men's Fellowship for adults
Organize annual revival meetings and special gospel meetings
Organize worship services primarily in Tamil language during Sundays
Organize worship services during other special occasions
